Women’s Intimate Health - Vaginal Rejuvenation

women’s intimate health – vaginal rejuvenation

After going through childbirth or menopause, many women experience vaginal laxity, dryness, reduced sexual pleasure, and urinary problems, like dribbling or mild incontinence. Vaginal rejuvenation treatments can help address these conditions by increasing circulation and tightening the interior and exterior vaginal tissues. Vaginal tightening treatments can help correct mild urinary stress incontinence, reduce pain with sexual intercourse, and improve lubrication and overall sexual pleasure. Glow Medispa is proud to offer non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation with the Exilis Ultra Femme 360. This device uses radiofrequency technology to provide 360-degree tightening of the vaginal tissues in short, painless treatment sessions.

What is Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Vaginal Rejuvenation is a term used to describe many different procedures that use energy-based devices (like lasers or radiofrequency) to thicken and tighten the vaginal tissue (usually inside and out) to treat loose or dry skin/tissue that happens with childbirth or menopause or both.

What is Vaginal Rejuvenation with Exilis Ultra 360?

At Glow Medispa, we use the Exilis Ultra Femme 360 for our non-invasive vaginal rejuvenation treatments. The Ultra Femme system uses radiofrequency energy to gently heat the internal and external vaginal tissues, which increases circulation in the tissues and causes them to tighten.

The Exilis Ultra Femme 360 uses a heated 360-degree tip that moves along the entire length of the vaginal canal and gently heats the vaginal tissues, increasing blood flow and stimulating the production of collagen. This restoration of collagen helps improve the tone of the vaginal tissues and can improve mild urinary stress incontinence. Vaginal rejuvenation can help correct vaginal laxity, reduce vaginal dryness, improve sexual pleasure and function, and improve mild urinary stress incontinence.

What are the different types of Energy-Based Treatments for Vaginal Rejuvenation?

There are two main types of devices used for Vaginal Rejuvenation:

  1. CO2 Lasers: these lasers are fractional ablative lasers that carefully burn the tissue to cause tissue regeneration, build collagen and tighten tissues. The most well-known is the Mona-Lisa Touch. These are excellent devices, but more expensive and risky than any medical spa should safely provide. If you are interested in CO2 laser treatment, it is best to see a Urologist or GYN specialist.
  2. Radiofrequency Devices: These energy-based devices use RF energy to heat the tissues to stimulate collagen, tighten tissues and increase lubrication. These treatments are effective and safe to use in the medical spa setting.

Benefits of Vaginal Rejuvenation with EXILIS ULTRA FEMME 360

  • Tightening of the interior and exterior vaginal tissues
  • Improved lubrication and sexual function
  • Decrease or eliminate dribbling
  • Short treatment sessions
  • Non-invasive, No downtime

How long is each treatment session?

Vaginal rejuvenation treatments with the Exilis Ultra Femme 360 typically last less than 20 minutes, making it easy to fit this treatment into a busy schedule. Treatment times may vary from patient to patient.

How many Treatments will I need?

We typically recommend three to four treatments scheduled once a week. The number of treatments required to achieve optimal results may vary from patient to patient. During your first consultation, our staff will recommend an appropriate treatment plan to help you achieve optimal results.

What does Vaginal Rejuvenation feel like?

The Ultra Femme 360 gently heats the tissues. There are no nerve endings inside the vagina that can feel heat, so you cannot feel this part at all. The treatment to the entrance (the introitus) and labia feels very warm but is not painful. There is no downtime.

What are other treatments for Vaginal Rejuvenation?

  • Kegels and Pelvic Floor Exercises can strengthen the pelvic floor muscles.
  • Surgery: Vaginoplasty is surgery where the vaginal tissues are tightened.

Are there any risks or side effects?

There have been rare reports in the literature of burns from vaginal rejuvenation. In 5 years of doing this treatment, we have never seen this, but it is theoretically possible. Some places recommend waiting 2-3 days to have sex after the treatment, but we have found this unnecessary, and in fact have had many reports of immediate benefit to one’s sex life.

Is Vaginal Rejuvenation permanent?

No. The results from any energy-based vaginal treatment are temporary and do require maintenance to preserve. This is typically done every 6 months.

How long does it take to see results?

Some patients may notice improvement after a single session. Optimal results can be achieved after completing a full treatment plan with continued improvement over the months following treatment. Multiple treatments may be necessary in order to achieve desired results. Results may vary.
