Radiesse and IPL can make your hands look decades younger

by Katherine Dee, MD

Do your hands give away your age? If you are like most of us, you have been taking good care of your facial skin: you wear sun block every day, use good products on your face, you love your eye cream! But your hands are left out of the picture-- and they are now becoming spotty, bony and look...fragile. Your hands no longer match how you look or feel. What to do?

Radiesse is the first and only product FDA-approved for improving the appearance of aging hands. This filler has been around for a long time, and it is perfect for smoothing out the bony and veiny appearance of the hands. Radiesse produces immediate results that typically last 1-2 years, plumping the skin and replenishing volume to the back of the hands to provide a supple and youthful appearance. Placed beneath the skin, Radiesse raises the skin level so that tendons, joints and veins lose their prominence. Because Radiesse provides a scaffolding for collagen-building, the body’s own collagen interweaving into this structure keeps the skin feeling soft, natural and smooth.

As for those age spots, we can use IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments and sometimes a skin-lightening serum to fade or eliminate them completely.

How does IPL work? Like a laser, the IPL targets the melanin in the skin, causing it to slough off, revealing lighter, softer skin underneath. A series of 3-5 treatments is usually required to accomplish the desired effect.

Glow MedSpa offers a special discounted package to “Turn Back the hands of Time.” This includes 2 syringes of Radiesse (1 for each hand) and a series of 3 IPL treatments. Call us today for an appointment!
