Sente is one of the best skincare lines and it is going to change the way you think about anti-aging. One of the most important tenets of prevention of aging for your skin is to keep your fibroblasts awake and making collagen throughout your life. Those cells are responsible for keeping your skin tight and youthful, and they go dormant by the age of 30. At Glow, we focus a lot on building that collagen (and elastin!) back up to thicken and tighten the skin. We use all kinds of topicals to try to boost collagen in the skin-- but they only work if those fibroblasts are awake. There are several ingredients in skincare products that stimulate collagen, such as Vitamin C and Retinols. These products penetrate into the skin well, but they cannot wake up dormant fibroblasts. Growth Factors do have this ability, but they do not penetrate the skin well. We use Growth Factors in adjunct with microneedling, laser, EMFACE and other procedures that allow them to penetrate the skin, but they are much less effective in ordinary topicals.
HSA is a relatively new ingredient that changes all that. Your dermis is made up of collagen (~80%), Elastin (~2-4%) and the rest is mostly Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). GAGs are very large molecules that make up the “gel” that fills up the dermis and makes it plump, soft and supple. Placed on the skin, GAGs are way too big and bulky to be absorbed. Senté has found a way to make GAG analogs that are very small and shaped so they penetrate into the skin easily. Heparan Sulfate Analog (HSA) is a patented ingredient that does just that! HSA provides immense hydration to the skin and does something incredible-- it triggers your own growth factors in your skin to wake the fibroblasts and not only make collagen but elastin as well!
